Karan has adopted this song from 1981 pakistani hit pop album with the same title "Disco Deewane". Late famous Pakistani singer Nazia Hassan sang the song which was produced by popular Indian producer Biddu. This song was a great hit and bacame best-selling Asian pop record up until that time. It was in top positions in 14 countries top records list. Original song was written by Anwar Khalid and Biddu has composed the music of full song in one night. Its has changed the trend of South Asian music.
For Student Of The Year Anvita Dutt has written this song and musician duo Vishal-Shekhar has recomposed it. Some part of original song is adopted in this new version which is sung by Benny Dayal, Sunidhi Chauhan and Vishal Dadlani. Remo D'Souza has choreographed it very excellently as dance number.
